The Nation’s voter letters expected by Oct. 16

Voter information letters are in the mail in The Nation Municipality, with delivery expected by Oct. 16 ahead of this month’s municipal and school board elections.
The municipality’s Oct. 8 notice asks residents to check their information when the letter arrives. Each letter contains a personalized identification number needed to vote online or by telephone. Anyone whose letter has not arrived by Oct. 16 should contact the clerk’s office.
Voting will run from 9 a.m. Oct. 21 to 8 p.m. Oct. 26, clerk Aimée Roy confirmed in an Oct. 13 email to The Rustler. The municipality has approved internet and telephone voting only.
For Limoges residents within The Nation, the municipality identifies Ward 5 as the Limoges North area and Ward 6 as Forest Park and Limoges South. Mayor Francis Brière, Ward 5 Coun. Daniel Boisvenue and Ward 6 Coun. Marjorie Drolet have been elected by acclamation. Whether an elector has a contest to vote in depends on their ward and school support designation.
Voters needing to correct their information or join the voters’ list must visit town hall or the satellite office during regular office hours. They will need to complete the appropriate form and provide approved identification showing their name and qualifying address.
Voter help centres are listed at town hall, 958 Route 500 W., Casselman, and the satellite office, 3248 County Rd. 9, Fournier. The municipality’s voter-information page lists hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 21 to 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 and 25, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 26.
Eligible voters must be Canadian citizens aged 18 or older, qualify through residence or property ownership or tenancy, including a qualifying spouse, and not be prohibited from voting. Election staff can clarify eligibility.
Preparations for the electronic election began well before the letters were mailed. On April 14, 2025, council approved participation in a joint request for proposals for internet and telephone voting, with the final method to be confirmed after supplier selection and costs were established.
The joint procurement involved seven Prescott-Russell municipalities. Its official award record names Voatz as the successful supplier and lists an award date of Oct. 1, 2025.
